A Journey to Dallas

A Journey to Dallas

Dallas is a city of extremes: sprawling suburban areas, small, if disheveled urban neighborhoods, moneyed estates. Blazing hot summers, icy winters. Mega-churches, mega-malls. A small town (sometimes small-minded) feeling with a backdrop of cosmopolitian restaurants and world-class museums. There is very little middle ground here, and as the saying goes: “Everything is bigger in Texas.” Big cultural differences, big racial divides, big personalities, big dreams and big problems. But within it all, there are everyday people who are filled with their own dichotomies and their own “bigness.” These are people who are willing to embrace new ideas—they just haven’t seen them yet. Give them a better alternative, a new perspective, and they might not just like it. They might become a part of it.

We’re Breaking Ground with Ground-Breaking Ideas

Something incredible is about to happen in downtown Dallas. Soon, a single block will be transformed into a place that creates economies, supports community, facilitates relationships and generates resources.

The winners of Re:Vision Dallas have created plans that challenged us, engaged us, and inspired us.

And their ideas, from a striking full block massing to vegetated screens to integrated greenways, will shape how people will live and work here in the future.

Take a look at their visionary thinking. And watch how their ideas become reality in the months ahead.
